HAINES CITY -- Mrs. Amalia Gamez of Haines City died of heart failure Wednesday (Oct. 12, 2005) in Davenport. She was 72.

Born in Michoacan, Mexico, on May 27, 1933, she came to Haines City from Mexico 20 years ago. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Haines City.

Mrs. Gamez is survived by her husband, Fernando Gamez; mother, Virginia Luna, Chicago; daughters, Martha Calderon, Griselda Raya, Adrina Roman, Evangelina Martinez, all of Haines City, Amalia Luna, Fort Pierce, Maria Godeleva, Plant City; sons, Jorge Gamez, Fernando Gamez, Jaime Gamez, Billivaldo Gamez, all of Haines City, Raul Gamez, Davenport; brothers, Billivaldo Luna, Luis Luna, Arturo Luna, all of Chicago, Herlindo Luna, Mexico; sisters, Angelita Meza, Catalina Luna, Virginia Luna, Eloise Luna, Maria Luna, all of Mexico; 41 grandchildren; 23 great-grand-children.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 this evening at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, 1001 Grace Ave., Haines City. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Ann's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Haines City.
