WINTER HAVEN -- Mr. Robert Asher of Winter Haven died of progressive supranuclear palsey Saturday (Oct. 8, 2005) at Spring Lake Nursing Home. He was 83.

Born Jan. 30, 1922, in Hector, Ky., Mr. Asher moved to Winter Haven from Lakeland in 1957. He served in the Army and fought in World War II. He worked in quality control for 28 years. He was a member of the Imperial Chapter of Ex-Prisoners of War. He attended St. Paul's Episcopal Church, where he served on the Breakfast Committee and as an usher.

Mr. Asher is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann Asher, Winter Haven; brother, Chris Asher, Lakeland.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
