| | James E. Fortune DAVENPORT -- Mr. James E. Fortune of Davenport died of cancer Sunday (Nov. 27, 2005) in Auburndale. He was 71.
Born in Coffee County, Ala., on April 28, 1934, he came to Davenport from Bonifay in the mid-1950s. He owned and operated a landscaping company. He was an Army veteran.
Mr. Fortune was preceded in death by his wife, Matrice Fortune. He is survived by his sons, James L. Fortune, David E. Fortune, both of Plant City; daughter, Rebecca J. Thorpe, Flint Hill, Va.; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Evergreen Cemetery in Davenport.
