WINTER HAVEN -- Mr. Orvel Dale Smiley of Winter Haven died of heart failure Wednesday (Nov. 16, 2005) in Lake Alfred. He was 73.

Born in Bolt, W.Va., on Sept. 26, 1932, he came to Winter Haven from Maryland in 1973. He was a truck driver. He was a lifemember of the N.R.A. He was a member of the Moose Lodge No. 1023 in Winter Haven. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, and a member of the American Legion Post No. 8 in Winter Haven.

Mr. Smiley is survived by his daughters, Danita Ann Sutton, Haines City, Dorinda Smiley, Winter Haven; former wife, Deanna Smiley-Bost, Winter Haven; three grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, 2425 W. Havendale Blvd., Winter Haven.
