John William "Bill" Saye

LAKE CITY -- Mr. John William "Bill" Saye of Lake City, formerly of Davenport, died of complications following a stroke Tuesday (Nov. 8, 2005) in Lake City. He was 87.

Born in Canton, Ga., on April 8, 1918, he lived in Davenport before moving to Lake City in 1979. He was a heavy equipment operator for Columbia Paving Co. in Lake City.

Mr. Saye is survived by his sons, Larry Saye, Lake City, and John W. Saye Jr.; daughters, Yvonne Hamic and Darlene Lamothe, both of Haines City, Janice Hamrick, Alaska, and Theresa Wolfe, St. Augustine; sisters, Mary Yon and Anne Hollis, both of Winter Haven; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 tonight at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, 1001 Grace Ave., Haines City. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Haines City.
