HAINES CITY -- Mr. Edward J. Boom of Haines City died of heart failure Wednesday (July 13, 2005) in Davenport. He was 91.

Born Aug. 6, 1913, in Valley Falls, N.Y., Mr. Boom came here from Troy, N.Y., 12 years ago. He was a veteran of the Army who served in World War II. He was a tugboat operator for 38 years. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Troy and the United Methodist Church of Davenport.

Mr. Boom is survived by his stepsons, Fredric Cook, Park City, Utah, John D. Cook, Tampa, Robert Cook, Orcas Island, Wash., William Cook, Webster, N.Y.; stepdaughters, Judy Cusack, Smithville, N.J., Maureen Frasher, Red Bluff, Calif.; sister, Alice Moleski, Troy.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday (July 29, 2005) at United Methodist Church of Davenport.
