| | Early Preston "Perk" Perkinson HAINES CITY -- Mr. Early Preston Perk Perkinson of Haines City died of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease on Friday (Dec. 16, 2005) in Winter Haven. He was 89.
Born Nov. 19, 1916, in Petersburg, Va., Mr. Perkinson moved to Haines City from Colonial Heights, Va., in 1983. He served in the Navy during World War II. He worked as a civil services instructor. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club, Sportsman Club and Cypress Creek Golf Club. He attended Immanuel Baptist Church, Colonial Heights and First Baptist Church, Haines City.
Mr. Perkinson was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Perkinson. He is survived by his sons, Douglas Perkinson, Alachua, Terry A. Perkinson, Gilbert, Ariz.; daughter, Debra J. Taylor, Mountville, S.C.; brothers, Bernard Perkinson, Colonial Heights, Joseph Perkinson, Surry, Va.; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
