Richard William Green

Winter Haven -- Richard William Green, 71, of Haines City, Florida passed away, Monday, December 5, 2005 at Life Care Center in Winter Haven after an extended illness.

Born January 17, 1934 in Lansing, Michigan, he moved to Haines City fifteen years ago from Perry, Michigan. He was retired from General Motors where he worked as a tool & die maker. He was a member of Landmark Baptist Church, a member of the Pilots Association at Winter Haven Airport and a Veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Korean War.

He is preceded in death by: his parents, William Ora Green and Katherine LeBlanc Green; and a step-son, David Johnston.

He is survived by: his wife of 26 years, Betty Jane Green; two sons, Bill Green and his wife, Shelly of Morrice, MI and Greg Green and his wife, Stacy of Biloxi, MS; two daughters, Tressa Tapp and her husband Jerry of Gautier, MS and Christine Raber and her husband Ken of Holland, MI; three step-sons, Steve Johnston and his wife, Julie of Ashburn, VA, Mike Johnston and his wife Trisha of Owosso, MI, and Scott Johnston of Morrice, MI; a step-daughter, Karen Johnston of Swartz Creek, MI; four brothers, Bob Green of Mason, MI, Bill Green of LaPeer, MI, Larry Green of Charlotte, MI and Ike Green of Gibsonton, FL; two sisters, Nancy Dunivon of Mason, MI and Debbie Green of Stanton, MI; Sixteen grandchildren; and Five Great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm till 8:00pm Thursday, December 8, 2005 at Oak Ridge Funeral Care. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, December 9, 2005 in the Oak Ridge Funeral Care Chapel with Dr. Mickey Carter officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 1131, Fairfax, Va 22038
