TALLAHASSEE -- Mrs. Sybil Cromer of Tallahassee, formerly of Polk County, died of heart and lung failure Wednesday (Aug. 24, 2005) in Tallahassee. She was 85.

Born in Commerce, Ga., on Aug. 27, 1919, Mrs. Cromer moved to Tallahassee from Pompano Beach three years ago. She worked as a bookkeeper in the clothing industry.

Mrs. Cromer was preceded in death by her husband, Ray E. Cromer. She is survived by her son, Ray E. Cromer Jr., Tallahassee; daughters, Sandy Hunton, Palistine, W.Va., Linda Ball, Miami; sister, Julia Nekolony, Sarasota; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, 1001 Grace Ave., Haines City. Services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Haines City.
