WINTER HAVEN-- Daniel Platt Preece, 81, of Winter Haven, FL died Tuesday, August 9, 2005 due to heart failure. 

Born August 7, 1924 in Melrose Massachusetts, he moved here in 1980 from New Hampshire.  He was a member of St. Marks Episcopal Church in Ashland, NH; a member of the Masonic Lodge; and attended the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Lake Wales.  He was a retired Engineer for the U.S. Soil Conservation Corps. 

Mr. Preece is survived by: his wife of 55 years, Jean Preece; a son, John Preece of Makanda, IL; a daughter, Debra P. Samia of Center Conway, NH; two sisters, Dorothea Harris of Vero Beach, FL and Barbara Renz of Massachusetts; Seven Grandchildren; and three Great-grandchildren.
