WINTER HAVEN -- Mr. James A. Blackburn of Winter Haven died of cancer Thursday (Aug. 4, 2005) at his home. He was 75.

Born in Kansas City, Mo., Mr. Blackburn moved to Winter Haven from Haines City two years ago. He served in the Marine Corps and fought in the Korean War. He worked as a night supervisor for Emory Air Freight for 17 years.

Mr. Blackburn is survived by his wife, Leonda Blackburn; son, David Evans, Plattsburg, Mo.; sister, Anna Crislip, Winter Haven.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at D.W. Newcomer's Son-White Chapel Funeral Home, Kansas City.
