Earnest Vandiver, Sr.

HAINES CITY -- Mr. Earnest Vandiver Sr. of Haines City died of cancer Saturday (June 18, 2005). He was 89.

Born Feb. 17, 1916, in Bolivar, Tenn., he came here from Tennessee in 1948. He was a contractor. He was a member of Landmark Baptist Church.

Mr. Vandiver was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Vandiver. He is survived by his son, Earnest Vandiver Jr., Haines City; sister, Tempie Willis, Lakeland, Pearl Godwin, Lancaster, Calif.; two grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
