2007
On Memorial Day, Monday, May 28, 2007 at 11:30am Oak Ridge Funeral Care held a Memorial Service dedicated to all of those who have served our country. The service was officiated by Colonel Tommy Thompson, U.S. Army Retired. Following the services a dedication ceremony was held, with the support of the American Legion Post 8 from Winter Haven and the Marine Corps League, celebrating the installation of a Veterans Memorial put at the front of the building around the flag pole. The memorial is constructed of black granite in the shape of a star and is engraved with the seal of each branch of the service on each point, showing the U.S. Marine Corps, US. Navy, U.S. Army, Air Force and Coast Guard Emblems. The funeral home has built this memorial as a way to show their respect and support they have for all of those who have served and those who will serve our country in the future.
